  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Begin by cleaning the calamari under cold water.
  • Slice the calamari into rings if not pre-sliced.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  • In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  • Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture.
  • Dip the floured rings into the beaten eggs.
  • Coat the rings with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the calamari in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with lemon wedges and garnish with parsley.
