Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the brown sugar, applesauce, molasses, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and mix well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting or serve plain.
  • Slice and enjoy your delicious gingerbread cake!
