- 400 g pasta penne or rigatoni
- 500 g ground beef or sausage
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 800 g canned tomatoes
- 300 g mozzarella cheese shredded
- 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Olive oil
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
Add the ground beef or sausage, cook until browned.
Stir in the canned tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce.
Layer half of the pasta mixture in a baking dish.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
Add the remaining pasta mixture and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
