Ingredients
  

  • 400 g pasta penne or rigatoni
  • 500 g ground beef or sausage
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 800 g canned tomatoes
  • 300 g mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  • Add the ground beef or sausage, cook until browned.
  • Stir in the canned tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce.
  • Layer half of the pasta mixture in a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Add the remaining pasta mixture and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
