Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sourdough starter active and bubbly
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine the sourdough starter and warm water.
  • Add sugar and salt, mixing until dissolved.
  • Gradually incorporate flour, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each into a long rope.
  • Shape each rope into a pretzel by twisting the ends together.
  • Boil water in a pot and add baking soda; briefly dip each pretzel.
  • Place pretzels on the baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
