Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole chicken about 3-4 lbs
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot, boil the whole chicken in chicken broth until fully cooked (about 1 hour).
  • Remove the chicken and let it cool; reserve the broth.
  • Shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces, discarding the skin and bones.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir in melted butter and milk until a dough forms.
  • Bring the reserved broth to a simmer.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering broth.
  • Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
  • Add the shredded chicken back into the pot.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
